| OK. I was born in 1954, son of a printer and one of a family of five. Educated at Grammar School, worked for many years in the finance industry. Married twice, first ended in divorce, second marriage to a wonderful lady called Joyce, who had MS and finally succumbed in 2005. I left the bank to look after Joyce in her later years as her condition was deteriorating. After she passed away I continued caring and now work in the local hospital operating theatres. My sister in Canada also works in a hospital operating theatre, another sister in Nottingham works in healthcare. My brother in Canada is now retired, but was in accountancy and a very high flying job in Canadian government. My other sister passed away a few years ago. My father was a great fan of the Theatre organ and had many LP records of Reginald Dixon and suchlike. He also had three records of mechanical organs and at an early age I was intrigued by these. This became a hobby and eventually an obsession. I became interested in how the organs worked and how it was possible that holes in cardboard could produce such wonderful sounds. I met with the Belgian music arranger, Arthur Prinsen, and was invited to visit him at his home and see how the music was made. A further visit to another Belgian arranger, Albert Decap, and the seed was sewn, I had to learn how it was done! ( I learned today 15th May 2009, that Albert Decap has passed away, may he rest in peace) So I studied and finally started making perforated music in the late 70's, though this didn't really take off until I bought my first organ in 1988. Other people started asking for my music and it grew to the stage where I was sending music all over the world. Due to Joyce's illness I had to spend less time making music and nowadays, I simply do it for fun, making music for myself and for a few friends, including music for a rare Gasparini organ in New Zealand, MIDI music for two similar Pell Magic Accordeons and a few Dutch street organs. |
