| IN MEMORIUM ALBERT DECAP15th May 2009
The sad news has reached me of the passing of the great music arranger, Albert Decap of Belgium. Born into the famous Decap family in 1931, son of Leon he quickly became known as a genuis of music arranging and a vital talent in the dance organ world.
I met him in 1975, a kindly man and quite patient to explain to me aspects of music arranging.
He also built a number of his own dance organs, featuring electrically operated key frames and radically different fronts and often incorporating the Solina Eminent electronic organ.
He was a great inspiration to me and though he is now gone, I will be able to enjoy his music on the many Decap organs, my own included.
My sympathy goes to his son, Leo.
May he rest in peace
